Tiles are an absolute must-have as floor covering of choice. They are easy to lay, and if you factor in the longevity of tiles, along with the hygiene aspects of being able to thoroughly wash and clean tiled floors, unlike carpeted floors, there is just no comparison between the two. Tiles rule OK!

Great blog on tiling! Very thorough.
It's always important to understand the advantages and disadvantages to anything you are going to put into your home. One thing about floor tiling though is that it's not quite as hard as some say it is. Personally I have found quite a few people, that with a little training, can do a good job tiling their floor. I personally like to work with ceramic and porcelain tile for ease of use, especially when just starting out.

If anyone would like to learn how to tile their floor for free, go to SeilingsFloors.com/dvd for a Free DVD. Thanks

Great article... A few tips from my side too, I hope it helps.

Tiling on tiles is a bit of a bodge really, but if you must, just make sure they are very clean and dry before you start. They don't need scoring. Make sure you set up battens so that they don't slip and stay level. To tile straight over the top of old or existing tiles you will need to, use a suitable detergent or tile cleaner to remove all the dirt and grease etc on them, do this by horizontally and vertically scoring the tiles using a tile scriber, this will facilitate a bond between the old tiles and your new tiles.

Very good and informative blog. I think Ceramic Tile is an excellent medium to explore both for functionality and design. Ceramic tiling is dense and strong, easy to clean, long lasting and does not absorb smell, water or carry allergens. It is excellent as a bathroom tile and it comes with knowledge it value increases more. I have tiled my whole house which was done by a very good installer Ciciliot a professional in this regards and they did their job very well.
