Wood floors are affordable but there are some that can be costly depending on the level of quality. When buying wood flooring, you should also consider not only for its aesthetic appeal, but also for its strength and durability.

I just sat through a cooking demo for SaladMaster. Before tonight I had never heard of waterless cooking. I am very interested but the price of the SaladMaster set forced me to do more research this type of cookware. Thank you for your informative review. I am curious as to why SaladMaster is not listed as a brand given they report to have been around since the 40's. Would you have an opinion as to whether their cookware is worth the cost?

Linoleum's longevity: In the mid-1960s, the company my dad worked for needed to put in a room-sized computer--now we have iPads that do much more--so the company needed to raise the floor by six or so inches so the computer could have more ventilation. My dad got permission to remove the battleship floor tiles, which he installed on our kitchen and hallway floors.

When my mom sold the house 40 years later--and despite our family of ten kids with skis, horse tack and more--it still looked good, with all seams holding firm.

I now work at a flooring store, which doesn't sell linoleum, but people still refer to it when they mean vinyl. There's no mistaking the quality of linoleum over vinyl, however.

It is important to hire a good contractor and negotiate regarding the making and installing of custom-built cabinets if these are what you want. Make sure to select cabinets with superior quality so that the furniture will become durable and minimize deterioration.

There is nothing more breath taking than glass, stone or metal tile on the backsplash. Surface Decor has a huge selection of glass tile for bath or kitchen. They have free shipping on everything and $1.99 samples. You should try them out as we had exceptional luck with them.

OK so Corian is a work surface. It's very pretty, can be made in any shape, comes in many colors, and looks more expensive than Formica (and is!). However, a few don'ts. Don't put anything hot on it, because it will make a mark. Oh yes, and don't cut on it, because it will scratch. Also, be careful not to spill anything on it because you have to use chemicals to wipe it clean. If you just use water and a paper towel the water beads and the surface is left with smears. Well, I guess that pretty much rules it out as a work surface. BUT, if you only eat take-out and if what you are looking for is a pretty surface that looks and is expensive, then Corian is the one for you! Actually, the people who introduced this product are either unbelievably stupid or unbelievably deceitful.
