It is really a good idea to renew your kitchen cabinets with stainless steel. I like it due to its several benefits:

1. It is very easy to clean.
2. It needs no extra care in comparison to others.
3. Even though its installation cost is slightly high, maintenance cost is low.

You have some excellent ideas for kitchens. That has been one of the recurring themes in my own life–looking for a way to make our bathrooms and our kitchen look really glorious, even though those rooms are much too small. One of the glories of the Internet, though, is that there is absolutely no dearth of ideas. Right now I have no idea of what I will ultimately do, but I keep hoping I will come up with something really slick.

To give your kitchen a more retro appearance, you can remodel with vintage metal cabinets. Vintage metal kitchen cabinets are desirable, because, due to their age, there will be few models exactly like them.

The best stand mixer I’ve ever seen was a quasi-antique in a farm kitchen. It was massive, but boy did that farmer’s wife churn out the baked goods. From bread through to rusks, this lady was constantly whipping up dough with her trusty mixer. It would take up half the available space in most modern apartment kitchens though!

In a good kitchen design the effective utilisation of space is of the utmost importance to get the best out of what you’ve got. An island can really maximise your space utilisation, and can serve so many purposes that it is a must have, rather than the more traditional kitchen table which in all honesty is not the best thing to prepare food on, etc.

The classic Butcher’s Block styled end-grain boards are my personal favourite, and they really complement almost any kitchen. Purists will tell you that they will not use anything else, and I have to agree with them.

One thing I haven’t seen much of here in South Africa is this kind of backsplash. I love the ornate patterns in the tin, and it reminds me of the pressed metal ceilings that the old homes in the neighbourhood has. Really nice, and something to consider when renovating an older home especially.
